Synthesis and characterization of tantalum(V) complexes containing bis-sulfamide ligands: X-ray crystal structure of Ta[N(Me)2]3[SO2(NCMe3)2]

The bis-sulfamide compounds, SO2[NHCMe3]2 and SO2NH[CH(Me)Ph]} were successfully employed as chelating diamide ligands in the synthesis of the tantalum complexes Ta[N(Me)2]3[SO2(NCMe3)2] (1) and Ta(NMe2)3[SO2(NCH(Me)Ph)2] (2). Compound 1 assumes a distorted trigonal pyramidal geometry in the solid state as determined by an X-ray crystallograpic study. Compounds 1 and 2 are fluxional at room temperature
