A steric effect‐controlled, zinc‐mediated carboxylation of different 2‐alkynyl bromides under an atmosphericpressure of CO2 has been developed by careful tuning of different reaction parameters, including the metal, solvent, temperature, and additive. 2‐Substituted 2,3‐allenoic acids were afforded from primary 2‐alkynyl bromides, whereas the carboxylation of secondary 2‐alkynyl bromides yielded 3‐alkynoic

A triazole derivative, useful as a plant growth regulator has the formula (I) :
wherein R¹ is an alkyl or haloalkyl group containing from 2 to 6 carbon atoms or a group -(CH₂)n-R⁴ where n is from 0 to 2 and R⁴ is optionally substituted cycloalkyl; R² is hydrogen, an alkyl group containing from l to 4 carbon atoms, an alkenyl or alkynyl group containing from 2 to 4 carbon atoms, or a benzyl group; and R³ is a tertiary butyl group optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms.
