  Novel substituted tetrahydrothiopyran-3,5-dione-4-carboxamide fungicides of the formula ##STR1## in which R is alkyl, cycloalkyl, optionally substituted aralkyl or optionally substituted aryl, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each independently is hydrogen or alkyl, and R.sup.4 is alkyl, excepting the compounds in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 are hydrogen R.sup.4 is methyl, R is alkyl, phenyl or phenyl which is substituted by halogen and/or methyl, and R.sup.2 is hydrogen, or methyl.
