Alcohols instead of aldehydes were used in the Passerinithree-componentreaction under catalytic aerobic conditions. Mixing alcohols, isocyanides, and carboxylic acids in toluene in the presence of a catalytic amount of cupric chloride, NaNO2, and TEMPO afforded, under an oxygen atmosphere, the P-3CR adducts in good yields.

pharmacological activities. Traditional three-componentPasserinireactions among isocyanates, aldehydes/ketones, and carboxylic acids for affording α-acyloxy carboxamides suffer from several drawbacks such as long reaction time, high reaction temperature, special reaction devices, etc. Herein, we developed a high-efficiency microdroplet method for accelerating the Passerinireactions by 3 orders of magnitude by

the metal- and halogen-freeaerobic, oxidative, three-component Passerini reaction. To the best of our knowledge this method can be considered as the first example of a OP-3CR of alcohols undermetal- and halogen-free reaction conditions. It should be also noted that there has been no precedent example of oxidative OP-3CR of secondary alcohols to their corresponding α-acyloxy carboxamides. The catalyst
