synthesis of chiral β‐branched amides is reported through the highly enantioselective isomerization of allylamines, followed by enamine exchange, and subsequent oxidation. The enamine exchange allows for a rapid and modular synthesis of various amides, including challenging β‐diaryl and β‐cyclic.

Allylic amines are converted to chiral, β-branched esters under rhodium catalysis in the presence of alcohol nucleophiles. Allylic amines with aliphatic and aromatic vinylic substituents are converted to ester products with excellent enantioselectivities in all cases. Several alcohol nucleophiles have been utilized in the reaction including 1° and 2° derivatives.

the carbocupration or hydroalumination of alkynes followed by amino-methylation yields allylic amines. The stereochemical integrity of the alkenyl moiety is completely retained in both cases.
