  [EN] Methods are described for preparing surface-active lactose derivatives with lactose being aminated reductively, in a one-step process, using a C1-C20 alkylamine and hydrogen in the presence of a transition metal catalyst; or lactose being aminated by means of reactive processing per part by weight of lactose, a C1-C20 alkylamine being used and the N-alkyl-lactosylamine being reduced; or lactose being reacted with an alkylamine and the N-alkyllactosyl-amine obtained being acylated; lactose being reacted with an acylamine or a urea; and/or a lactylamine or lactosylamine being oxidised, at least 2, in particular 4-50, primary alcohol groups per 100 being converted into a carboxylic acid; and/or a lactylamine or lactosylamine being converted into an amine acid. The derivatives are useful as surfactants, emulsifiers and dispersants. Instead of lactose derivatives of other galacto-oligo-saccharides can also be prepared and used.
  [FR] L'invention porte sur un certain nombre de procédés de préparation de dérivés de lactose tensioactifs consistant à aminer du lactose par réduction, dans un processus en une seule étape, à l'aide d'alkylamine comportant de 1 à 20 atomes de carbone et d'hydrogène en présence d'un catalyseur à base de métal de transition ou à aminer du lactose par un traitement réactif (par partie de lactose en pourcentage pondéral), en faisant intervenir de l'alkylamine comportant de 1 à 20 atomes de carbone, la N-alkyl-lactosylamine étant réduite, ou bien à faire réagir du lactose avec une alkylamine, la N-alkyl-lactosylamine obtenue étant acylée, ou encore à faire réagir du lactose avec une acylamine ou de l'urée et/ou à oxyder une lactylamine ou une lactosylamine, au moins deux parties en pourcentage pondéral, de préférence entre 4 et 50, de groupes alcool primaire, étant convertis en acide carboxylique, et/ou à convertir une lactylamine ou une lactosylamine en un acide aminé. Ces dérivés s'avèrent utiles en tant que tensioactifs, émulsionnants et dispersants. Il est possible de préparer, à la place de dérivés de lactose, des dérivés d'autres galacto-oligosaccharides et de les utiliser.

  (EN) Sugar-derived gemini surfactants contain two disaccharide moieties as the hydrophilic groups that are linked by a bridge. The compounds have general structure (I), wherein R and R1 are the same or different linear, branched, saturated, or unsaturated hydrocarbyl moieties with a carbon chain length of from about C6-C23 and Y and Y1 are the same or different alcohol-containing moieties having at least two and preferably more hydroxyl containing groups such as glucose, fructose, lactose, and the like, and one but not both may be hydrogen, and X is a R2 or -COR2CO- wherein R2 is a C1 to C20 straight or branched chain alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, dicarboxyaryl, or diaminoalkyl.(FR) Ces tensio-actifs jumelés dérivés du sucre contiennent deux fractions disaccharide à titre de groupes hydrophiles pontés.
