  The present invention relates to thienylacetic acid derivatives of the general formula I ##STR1## in which X denotes --O-- or --NH--; R.sup.1 denotes hydrogen, the group --CH.sub.2 --CO--R.sup.3 or the group --CO--CH.sub.2 --NH.sub.2 ; R.sup.2 denotes hydrogen, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)-alkyl or the radical R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 denotes (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)-alkoxy, hydroxyl or amino, it not being possible for both R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 to represent hydrogen when X denotes O, as well as the pharmaceutically tolerated salts thereof, process for the preparation thereof, the use thereof, and pharmaceuticals containing these and the preparation thereof.
