Low temperature NMR studies indicate that the dicationic salts [Zr(η-C5H4CMe2C6H4Me-p)2]2+[MeB(C6F5)3]–2 and [Zr(η-C5H4CMe2Ph)2]2+ [MeB(C6F5)3]2– are formed when the neutral compounds [Zr(η-C5H4CMe2Ph)2Me2] and [Zr(η-C5H4CMe2C6H4Me-p)2Me2] and [Zr(η-C5H4CMe2Ph)2Me2] are treated with 2 equivalents of B(C6F5)3.
