This process includes the step of reducing an oxime by hydrogen in an organic solvent in the presence of a catalyst and ammonia. The oxime is represented by the general formula (2),

represents hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aralkyl group. With this process, the trifluoromethylbenzylamine can be produced with high yield.
