The synthesis of a series of 2,2-disubstituted-6-cyanocyclohexanones by hydrolysis of the precursor 3,3-disubstituted-2-amino-1-cyanocyclohexenes (2,2-disubstituted-6-cyanocyclohexanoneimines) is described.
