  In order to study the properties of aromatic sulfur as ligand atom and at the same time the similarity of the quinoline and the isothiazole ring, 3-phenylisothiazole-5-carboxylic acid was synthetisized in different ways, e.g. using the 3-phenylisothiazole—also unknown up to date—as starting compound.
