The reaction of NHC-stabilized silylaminosilylene 1 with enolizable ketones rapidly led to the regio- and stereoselective formation of silicon bis-enolates in excellent yields under mild conditions.

Carbenes are known for their ability to abstract HCl from hydrochlorosilanes to form carbene hydrochloride adducts. In contrast, the Si–H bond insertion products RSiCl2(cAACH) (2, 4, 6, and 8) have been formed in the reaction of RSiHCl2 [R = Ar(SiMe3)N (1), Cp* (3), PhC(NtBu)2 (5), Cl (7); Ar = 2,6-iPr2C6H3] with a cyclicalkyl(amino) carbene (cAAC:) irrespective of the steric demand of the R group

Covering all the bases: Donor‐stabilized1‐hydrosilanimine was prepared by dehydrohalogenation of Ar(SiMe3)NSiHCl2 with a less‐hindered N‐heterocyclic carbene. The steric effects of NHCs have significant influences on the dehydrohalogenation reactions.
NHC‐stabilized dichlorosilaimineArN=Si(IiPr)Cl2 (2) (Ar = 2,6‐iPr2C6H3, IiPr = 1,3‐diisopropyl‐4,5‐dimethylimidazol‐2‐ylidene) and disilane LSiHCl‐SiCl2L (L=ArNSiMe3) (3) could be synthesized from the reaction of aminodichlorosilane ArN(SiMe3)SiHCl2 (1) with IiPr under different conditions. Reactions of the aminochlorosilane RSiHCl2 and disilane R2Si2HCl3 (R = (2,6-iPr2C6H3)(SiMe3)N) with an excess of 1,3-bis(tert-butyl)imidazol-2-ylidene resulted in the silylation of the NHC while reaction with the less hindered 1,3-diisopropyl-4,5-dimethyl-imidazol-2-ylidene yielded an NHC-stabilized aminochlorosilylene.
