this study, novel substituted quinoxaline 1,4-dioxides were synthesized from novel substituted benzofuroxan. 4,5(6,7)-Dimethylbenzofuroxan 3 was prepared by the thermal decomposition of 2,3-dimethyl-6-nitrophenylazide 2.
