The subject of the present application is a dyeing composition for dyeing keratinous fibres, in particular human keratinous fibres such as hair, comprising, in an appropriate dyeing medium, at least one cationic tertiary para-phenylenediamine containing a pyrrolidine ring, and at least one particular heterocyclic coupler.
The subject of the invention is also the dyeing method using this composition.
Disclosed are compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein n is 2 or 3, R is hydrogen or methyl, R' is C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, acyl, aryl, aroyl, alkoxycarbonyl, tetrahydrofuroyl, dialkylaminocarbonyl, or furoyl, and R" is hydrogen and methoxy. These compounds are useful as antihypertensive agents.

A series of functionalized dibenzotetraazafulvalenes have been synthesized and characterized using X-ray crystallography, UV-vis spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. The solid-state structures, electronic properties, and redox potentials of these compounds varied in accordance with the nature of the pendant arene substituent.
