A trinuclear complex and a 1D coordination polymer, [Cu2L1(mu-OH)}Cu(2,5-pydc)(2)(dmf)}]center dot 4H(2)O (1) and (infinity)[Cu2L2}Cu(2,5-pydc)(2)(OClO3)(2)}][Cu2L2(OH2)(2)] (2), have been assembled using two binuclear copper(II) complexes with an end-off-, and, respectively, macrocyclic Robson ligands, and a mononuclear metalloligand, [Cu(2,5-pydc)(2)](2-) (HL1 and H2L2 are bicompartmental Schiff-base ligands resulting from condensation reactions between 2,6-diformyl-p-cresol with N,N-dimethylethylenediamine and, respectively, ethylenediamine; 2,5-pydc(2-) = the dianion of the 2,5-pyridyl-dicarboxilc acid). The crystal structures of the two compounds have been solved.
