Various 2-, 3- and 4-substituted iodobenzenes were aminocarbonylated using aminothiazole and aminothiadiazole derivatives in palladium-catalysed reaction. The reaction is chemospecific toward the corresponding carboxamides. Consequently, the application of the above N-nucleophiles provided the N-1,3-thiazol-2-yl- and N-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-ylcarboxamides in moderate to high yields. Due to the facile

A mild, general, and high yielding synthesis of N-acyl 2-aminobenzothiazoles has been demonstrated by the N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-organocatalyzed direct amidation of aldehydes with 2-aminobenzothiazoles proceeding via the acyl azolium intermediates....

An efficient and recyclable imidazolium-supported benzotriazole reagent (Im-CH2-BtH) as a novel synthetic auxiliary has been synthesized and its utility as a carboxyl group activating reagent via the formation of stable imidazolium-supported acyl benzotriazoles was explored for the synthesis of amides, esters and thioesters in water under microwave conditions. The reagent was reused five times without
A series of ring-opened analogs of indomethacin was synthesized and tested in vitro (at concentrations ranging from 10-9 to 10-5 mol/l) on human neutrophil functions. Two compounds lacking the carboxylic group were subjected to the same tests and one of these showed unexpected activity. Among the acidic derivatives, compound 12 bearing the same substituents as indomethacin 10 (methoxy and 4-chlorobenzoyl groups) was the most active: it significantly lowered neutrophil responses in all five bioassays and at the three concentrations considered.
of new drugs could be carried out by performing investigations to identify drugs based on repurposing of “old” drugs. The 5-nitrothiazole drug, Nitazoxanide was shown to be active against intestinal protozoa, human helminths, anaerobic bacteria, viruses, etc. In this work, Nitazoxanide and analogs were prepared using two methodologies and evaluated against P. falciparum 3D7. A bithiazole analog, showed
