1H NMR spectra of the adducts of 9-trimethylsilylanthracene with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate and p-quinone are temperature dependent, indicating slow rotation about silicon-to-carbon single bonds, while that of 1,4-dimethoxy-9-trimethylsilyltriptycene is indicative of completely frozen conformation with respect to the Si–C(9) bond.
