Abstract Reactions of N,2-dihydroxy-3-methoxybenzamide (H3L) with transition metal acetates in the presence of pyridine and/or 2,2′-bipyridine under solvothermal conditions give two pentanuclear complexes, [Zn5L2(CH3COO−)4(py)3] (1) and [Co5L2(CH3COO−)4(py)(2,2′-bipy)2] (2).
