Abstract The FTIR spectra of the three title compounds and of their partially deuterated analogues were recorded at both room and liquid-nitrogen temperature. As a consequence of the Jahn-Teller effect, the bands in the OH stretching region of the spectrum of Cu(BS) 2 ·6H 2 O ( BS = benzenesulphonate ) are broad and split into at least two components which appear at somewhat higher and lower frequencies
