  Deprotection of 4-(p-cyanophenyl)-1,3-dithiole-2-thione, 4-(2-thienyl)-1,3-dithiole-2-one (1) and 4-(3-thienyl)-1,3-dithiole-2-one (2) with a base in MeOH or KOH and the posterior addition of nickel(II) and palladium(II) complexes give the formation of heteroleptic dithiolenes with 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane, dppe, as an additional ligand.
