fluorinated drugs is increasing each decade. Therefore, new approaches for accessing fluorinated nitrogen heterocycles are of great significance. A novel, scalable, and metal‐free method for accessing a wide range of fluorinated indoles is described. This oxidative‐dearomatization‐enabled approach assembles 2‐trifluoromethyl NH‐indole products fromsimple commercially available anilines with hexafluoroacetylacetone

A practical copper‐catalyzed direct nitration of protected anilines, by using one equivalent of nitric acid as the nitrating agent, has been developed. This procedure features mild reaction conditions, wide structural scope (with regard to both N‐protecting group and arene substitution), and high functional‐group tolerance. Dinitration with two equivalents of nitric acid is also feasible.
A rate enhancement of tert-butoxycarbonylation of aromatic amines with Boc2O in alcoholic solvents

A rate enhancement of tert-butoxycarbonylation of aromatic amines by Boc(2)O in alcohols compared to aprotic solvents was demonstrated. Kinetic analysis by NMR suggested that the reaction in CD3OD was faster than in CDCl3 by a factor of 70. Reactions between Boc(2)O and various aliphatic and aromatic amines in ethanol provided the N-Boc derivatives in good to excellent yields in short reaction times. (c) 2006 Elsevier Ltd. Greener, Efficient and Catalyst-Free Ultrasonic-Assisted Protocol for theN-Fmoc Protection of Amines
A simple, eco-sustainable method for the N-(9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl) (N-Fmoc) protection of various structurally amines under ultrasonic irradiation is reported. The corresponding N- Fmoc derivatives were obtained in good to excellent yields within short reaction time. The reaction proceeds without the formation of any side product. Mildness, efficiency and easier work are the main advantages of this new protocol.

and dyes. Nitration methods for anilines under mild conditions are highly desired. Herein, we report a photochemical method for the nitration of anilines bearing various protecting groups by 5-methyl-1,4-dinitroimidazole as a new type of nitro source. This method is light-controlled and proceeds under mild reaction conditions with high efficiency. Fmoc-, Ts- and alkyl-protected anilines are all well
