preparative synthesis, but additionally the catalytic mechanism was discussed and the clear impact of this rarely observed carbonate-derived acyl enzyme was shown. The presented protocol is characterized by atom efficiency, acyldonor sustainability, easy acyl group removal, mild reaction conditions, and biocatalyst recyclability, which significantly decreases the cost of the reported process.

N-Acyl-1-methyl-omega-phenylalkylamines predominantly in the form of the R enantiomer, are prepared by a process using a biocatalyst capable of stereoselectively hydrolysing the N-acyl group of the S enantiomer and recovering the remaining N-acyl-1-methyl-omega-phenylalkylamine predominantly in the form of the R enantiomer. The S enantiomer may be hydrolysed to yield the S enantiomer of the corresponding amine, which may be recovered.

The enantioselective addition of organolithiumreagents to N-anisyl aldimines promoted by chiral bisoxazolines and (-)-sparteine as external ligands is described. This reaction proceeds readily with a wide range of aldimine substrates (aliphatic, aromatic, olefinic) and organolithium nucleophiles (Me, n-Bu, Ph, vinyl) in excellent yields (81-99%) and with high enantioselectivities (up to 95.5:4.5 er)
