A palladium-catalyzed imidoylative cycloamidation of N-alkyl-2-isocyanobenzamides with 2,6-disubstituted aryl iodides, affording unprecedented axially chiral 2-arylquinazolinones, has been developed with good yields and atroposelectivities.
