Dimeric compounds formed as a result of thermal oligomerization of methyl 4-(1,3-dioxo-2,3- dihydro-1H-isoindol-2-yl)buta-2,3-dienoate were identified.

functionalized allenoates has been synthesized, and their cytotoxic effect has been studied against the tumor cell line (HepG2 and Jurkat) and the normal origin cells (HEK293). The highest cytotoxic effect has been shown for diterpene-containing allenic compounds, which can be attributed to promising substances with potential antitumor activity.

The structure of methyl 4-[(1,3-dioxo-1,3-dihydro-2H-isoindol-2-yl)methyl]-1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5-carboxylate is determined by X-ray crystallography and further used to elucidate the structure of methyl 4-[(1,3-dioxo-1,3-dihydro-2H-isoindol-2-yl)methyl]-1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-carboxylate, using the data of homo- and heteronuclear 2D NMR correlation spectroscopy.
