A new family of heavy-atom-free room-temperature phosphorescent compounds, dibenzobenzodithiophenes (DBDTs) have been synthesized and characterized. The afterglow of the regioisomeric compounds has been investigated in a polymer matrix. Furthermore, it has been revealed that much simpler dibenzothiophenes display room-temperature phosphorescence in a polymeric matrix.

The present disclosure provides a nitrogen-containing compound, an electronic element and an electronic device, which belongs to the technical field of organic materials.
