(dase) affords the five coordinate compound [RhCl(dase)2] on reaction with [RhCl(PPh3)3]. In solution [RhCl(tasp)] forms the stable adducts [RhCl(O2)(tasp)] and [RhCl(SO2)(tasp)] with O2 and SO2 respectively, and reacts with CO to give [RhCl(CO)(tasp)] which partially dissociates to [Rh(CO)(tasp)]Cl in methanol forming [Rh(CO)(tasp)]BPh4 on reaction with NaBPh4.
