  Abstract The kinetics of the replacement of chloride trans to diethylsulphide in [Pt(SEt2)Cl3]− by a variety of amines have been studied in methanol at 30 °C. The reverse reaction has been studied with 3-chloropyridine as leaving group. The rate constants are compared with those of the corresponding reactions of the dimethylsulphide analogue.
