silver(II), [AgL2], (L = 2-, 3- and 4-pyridinecarboxylate; 2,3-, 2,4-, 2,5- and 3,5-pyridinedicarboxylate), MnIII(picolinate)3, and the heteropolyanion [CoIIIW12O40]5− are reported. It is shown that previous literature work on oxidation of alcohols with O3/O2 using Co(OAc)2 are erroneous in that the latter has no catalytic effect.
