A copper-catalyzed three-component reaction of terminal alkynes, diazo compounds, and B2pin2 to prepare trisubstituted alkenylboronates has been developed. This difunctionalization of alkynes selectively occurs at the terminal carbon atom and proceeds via a tandem sequence.
