A simple and efficient method has been developed for chemoselective deprotection of phenolic methoxymethyl (MOM) ethers using silica-supported sodium hydrogen sulfate as a heterogeneous catalyst. The conversions occur at room temperature, and the yields of the deprotected phenols are excellent.
