    A series of eight silver(I) trifluoroacetate complexes based on aromatic ligands bearing terminal ethynyl and ethenyl groups on separate pendent arms has been synthesized. Single-crystal X-ray analysis of the complexes provided detailed information on the influence of argentophilicity, ligand disposition and orientation, and the co-existence of three types of silver-carbon bonding (silver-ethynide, silver-ethenyl and silver-aromatic) in coordination network construction, as well as the roles played by weak pi-pi stacking and anion-pi interactions in supramolecular assembly.     Enzymatic allylation of catechols was realized via catechol O-methyltransferase (COMT) using an allylated S-adenosyl-l-methionine (allyl-SAM) analog, with relatively good chemo- and regioselectivities. This new reaction offered an alternative procedure for allylation of catechols, which can be expanded as a biocatalytic allylation method in organic synthesis.

    A regioisomer of β‐lapachone and two analogs were synthesized and evaluated for their antitumor activities. All three compounds tested were found to exhibit promising activities against PC‐3, HepG2, and Raji cancer cell lines in μM range.
