organodiantimony(V) compounds have been synthesized by
reactions of [(SbR

BrO)

] (R = Ph or
p-tolyl) and [(SbR

X)
2
O]
(R = Ph or p-tolyl, X = Br or Cl)
with Na(O
2
AsMe
2
),
Na(O
2
AsPh
2
) or Na(O
2
AsMe
2
).
The compounds have been characterised by a range of spectroscopic
methods and crystal structures are reported for two quadruply bridged,
[(SbPh
2
)
2
(µ-O)
2
(µ
-O
2
AsMe
2
)
2
] and
[Sb(p-MeC
6
H
4
)
2
}
2
(µ-O)
2
(µ-O
2
AsMe
2
)

], and four triply bridged compounds,

obtained.
