    New highly soluble phenoxy-substituted phthalocyanine and azaphthalocyanine derivatives: Synthesis, photochemical and photophysical studies and atypical aggregation behavior

    A series of zinc phthalocyanines and corresponding aza-analogues azaphthalocyanines substituted with peripheral 2,6-diisopropylphenoxy substituents containing different functional groups (Br, OCH3, and OH) were synthesized and their photophysical properties were investigated. UV-vis and H-1 NMR analyses confirmed the non-aggregation behavior of the prepared complexes in most organic solvents. All investigated compounds showed good photophysical and photochemical properties in THF and DMF with Phi(F) values in the range of 0.22-0.44 and Phi(Delta) values ranging between 0.42 and 0.57. Hydroxylated compounds showed good solubility in polar solvents including ethanol, methanol, acetone and even in aqueous ethanol mixtures. Absorption spectra in aqueous ethanol indicated presence of only monomers even at very low ethanol content in water (0.5% of ethanol in water). Despite this, no fluorescence occurred from approximately 50% of ethanol in water suggesting presence of aggregates that do not differ from monomers in a shape of absorption spectra.     Several series of acyl-CoA:cholesterol O-acyltransferase inhibitors were prepared by the stepwise addition of nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur nucleophiles to N-chlorosulfonyl isocyanate.     A polymerizable composition which comprises (i) a cycloolefin monomer, (ii) a metathesis polymerization catalyst, (iii) a chain transfer agent, (iv) a radical crosslinking agent, and (v) a compound (α) selected from the group consisting of compounds having alkoxyphenol structures wherein each aromatic ring has one or more substituents, compounds having aryloxyphenol structures, and compounds having catechol structures wherein each aromatic ring has two or more substituents; a thermoplastic resin composition which comprises (1) a cycloolefin thermoplastic resin, (2) a radical crosslinking agent, and (3) a compound (α) ; a process for the production thereof; a crosslinked resin obtained by crosslinking the thermoplastic resin composition; and crosslinked resin composite materials produced by laminating a substrate with the thermoplastic resin composition and crosslinking the thermoplastic resin composition. The invention provides a polymerizable composition useful as raw material in the production of a thermoplastic resin composition excellent in storage stability and fluidity in heat lamination; a thermoplastic resin composition and a process for the production thereof; a crosslinked resin obtained by crosslinking the thermoplastic resin composition; and crosslinked resin composite materials exhibiting excellent interlayer adhesion.
