    Diamino malenonitrile-linked naphthalimide in selective sensing of F-, CN-, Hg2+ and Cu2+ under different experimental conditions
    摘要:
    Diaminomalenonitrile-linked naphthalimide 1 has been designed and synthesised. It shows selective sensing of F-, CN-, Cu2+ and Hg2+ under different experimental conditions. While compound 1 in CH3CN exhibits colour change from yellow to greenish blue or green in the presence of F-, AcO-, CN- and H2PO4-, it shows a colour change from yellow to light green selectively in presence of CN- in aqueous CH3CN. The selectivity of 1 for F- in pure CH3CN is achieved by using Ca2+ ion as chelating agent. Besides anion sensing, the probe exhibits different colour attributes towards Hg2+ and Cu2+ ions in aqueous CH3CN. While the yellowish solution of 1 is discharged to almost colourless in presence of Cu2+ ions, a light red colour is observed in the presence of Hg2+ ions. The interaction study has been performed by NMR, UV-vis, fluorescence and mass spectroscopic techniques. A theoretical study has been invoked to understand the deprotonation of 1 that occurs in presence of basic anions.

    Disclosed are a 1,8-naphthalimide derivative, a preparation method therefor and a use thereof. The 1,8-naphthalimide derivative is easy to prepare, and is an enhanced Cu 2+ fluorescent probe, which can detect Cu 2+ by two wavelengths and be applied to almost-all-water systems. According to atitration experiments and blank experiments at 392 nm and 754 nm, the detection limit of the 1,8-naphthalimide derivative of the present invention for Cu 2+ is 2.6368×10 −7 mol/L and 2.0156×10 −7 mol/L, respectively, indicating that same can perform quantitative detection for Cu 2+ with a high selectivity and a high sensitivity by using two wavelengths. In addition, a pH colorimetric switch based on 1,8-naphthalimide can rapidly and reversibly respond to a pH by means of three ways: a maximum absorption wavelength, absorbance and color change. Same has a narrow switching pH range, a good selectivity and a high sensitivity, can be used in almost-all-water systems.

  • Aryl ethers decorated gallic acid–naphthalimide conjugate: aggregation and sensing towards amines and F<sup>−</sup>

    A gelator 1 containing naphthalimide and gallic acid derivatives has been designed and synthesised. It forms instant orange-coloured gels from different solvents such as CH3CN-1,4-dioxane (5:1, v/v), toluene-1,4-dioxane (5:1, v/v) and dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). The morphology of the gels reveals the fibrous network. CH3CN-1,4-dioxane (5:1, v/v) gel exhibits higher mechanical strength than toluene-1,4-dioxane (5:1, v/v) gel as confirmed from lower tan delta value (tan delta = G ''(av)/G '(av)) in rheological experiment. The CH3CN-1,4-dioxane (5:1, v/v) gel of 1 exhibits sharp response towards aliphatic amines over the aromatic amines causing rapid gel-to-gel transition with colour change. On the other hand, toluene-1,4-dioxane (5:1, v/v) gel of 1 selectively senses fluoride ion (F-) from a series of other basic anions by exhibiting colour change (from orange to blackish brown) of the gel state. By contrast, CH3CN-1,4-dioxane (5:1, v/v) gel underwent gel-to-sol transition in the presence of several anions and did not show any selectivity in sensing. Gelator 1 also shows measurable interaction towards aliphatic amines, F- and AcO- in CH3CN with distinguishable features in electronic spectra and colour change. Compound 1 and F--coated paper strip which exhibits colour change on heating and cooling has been successfully used as writing kit.

    A fluorescent turn-on probe for Cys/Hcy based on inhibiting the C=N isomerization quenching process by an intramolecular hydrogen bond was reported. The probe exhibited higher selectivity toward Cys/Hcy over other amino acids as well as thiol-containing compounds.
