    The composition for the oxidative dyeing of hair contains at least one coupler of the general formula ##STR1## where R is a straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 - to C.sub.4 -alkyl group, X is chlorine or fluorine, and R.sup.1 is a straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 - to C.sub.4 -alkyl group or a straight-chain or branched C.sub.2 - to C.sub.4 -hydroxyalkyl group. The 5-halogen-2,4-bis(alkylamino)-1-alkylbenzenes of the formula (I) are novel. The couplers of the general formula (I) may be obtained through simple chemical reactions, are easily soluble in water and have an outstanding shelf stability, in particular as a constituent of the hair dye composition described here. The dyeing results which can be achieved with the hair dye composition according to the invention are particularly distinguished by the color intensity of the red hues, in addition to the multitude of shades, and by a good purity of color with respect to blue hues.

    A chain extending agent for reaction injection molding (RIM) comprising a normally liquid blend of butanediol and a toluene diamine mono-substituted with an electron withdrawing group and having the formula wherein X is vicinal to an amino radical and is selected from the group of halogen, CN, N02, acyl, carboxylate and isomeric mixtures thereof, and wherein the butanediol and diamine are combined in a critical mole ratio of from 4:1 to about 19:1. The above blend is particularly useful in the preparation of large moldings of polyurethane-polyurea elastomer by the RIM or RRIM (reinforced reaction injection molding) process wherein instant preformed blend is added to a mixture of polyol reactant and catalyst before polymerization in the mold with isocyanate to produce a urethane/ urea polymer product of improved properties. Accordingly, the invention also concerns an enhanced RIM or RRIM process and improved product by the use of a mixture of the present chain extender blend and polyol reactant maintain- able in the liquid state at ambient temperature.

    Substantially fully imidized polyimidesiloxanes which are based on a mixture consisting essentially of a biphenyl tetracarboxylic dianhydride and a benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride, are soluble in diglyme which gives them particular utility in the micro-electronics industry. The polymers are prepared from the mixture of dianhydrides, a difunctional siloxane monomer and an organic diamine. Diamines can be used to provide an asymmetrical structure in the polyimidesiloxane polymer chain. The polyimidesiloxane can be prepared with functional groups which render them directly curable. The polyimidesiloxanes can also be prepared with functional groups which when reacted with an unsaturated compound renders the polymers curable. The products of the invention can be used in the form of solutions in the micro-electronic industry. The polymers can also be used in wire and cable coating and to prepare films, fibers, and molded and extruded articles.

    Substantially fully imidized polyimidesiloxanes which are based on a selected pyridine compound are soluble in diglyme which gives them particular utility in the micro-electronics industry. The polymers are prepared from the dianhydride, a difunctional siloxane monomer and an organic diamine that has the formula wherein X is hydrogen, halogen, phenyl or combinations thereof, Z = -0-, -S-, - or -Y-Ar-Y-, Ar is an aromatic radical of 6 to 10 carbon atoms, Y = -O-, -S-, or -. n = 0 or 1. Preferably formula I is wherein X, Z, Ar, Y and n are as in formula I. More specifically, the aromatic diamines are diaminoaromatic trifluoride compounds having the formula where Ar is an aromatic radical of 6 to 10 carbon atoms, and where X is hydrogen, halogen, phenyl or combinations thereof. The preferred diamine has the formula Other diamines can be used to provide an asymmetrical structure in the polyimidesiloxane polymer chain. The polyimidesiloxane can be prepared with functional groups which render them directly curable.
