Me3Si−X (X=CN, N3, OCN, and SCN) was treated with the Lewis acids GaCl3 and B(C6F5)3 in toluene yielding the desired adducts Me3Si−X→GaCl3 and Me3Si−X→B(C6F5)3. A process for preparing dimethylsilyl dicyanide comprising reacting trimethylsilyl cyanide with dimethylsilyl dichloride. Advantageously the trimethylsilyl chloride formed as a by-product in the course of the reaction is continuously removed from the reaction, the trimethylsilyl cyanide starting material is produced by reacting trimethylsilyl chloride with an alkali metal cyanide, and the by-product trimethylsilyl chloride of the principal reaction is recycled to the preparation of trimethylsilyl cyanide.

The reactions of alkoxydimethylsilyl cyanides with some tetracoordinated phosphorus chlorides and fluorides were investigated. It was shown that the investigated reactions are realized primarily with the replacement of two halogen atoms by functional groups. The transformations of the phosphorus acid cyanides obtained with metal fluorides were studied.
