N-Mono- and NN-disubstituted fluoracetamides have been tested as potential larvicides, contact insecticides and rodenticides. This invention relates to oxazolidinedione derivatives of general formula (1) and a method of producing the same, wherein R¹ represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and R² represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group as well. The above compounds serve as an intermediate for the production of benzoxazinone derivatives of general formula(II)selectively in good yields, wherein R¹ represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and R³ represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, cyanoalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aralkyl group. Said benzoxazinone derivatives are well-known and useful as a herbicide.
