By means of 13C NMR spectroscopy, the coupling constants 1J(119Sn13CEt) of 18 compounds of the SnEt3R type (R = organo group) have been measured. These coupling constants have been shown to reflect the change induced by R in the s-content of the tin hybrid orbitals of the SnCEt bonds.
