A highly regioselective iodosulfonylation of allenes in the presence of CuI and 1,10-phenanthroline has been developed for the synthesis of various useful (E)-α-iodomethyl vinylsulfones in moderate to excellent yields. This practical reaction is fast, operationally simple, and in particular, proceeds under very mild conditions to afford the target products with high regio- and stereoselectivity. The

A novel method toward synthesis of sulfonamides and β-arylsulfonyl enamines has been developed via I2/TBHP mediated C–N and C–H bond cleavage of tertiaryamines, which features highly selective formation of two different target products depending on the reaction solvent. The experimental results reveal that H2O as the solvent could effectively achieve the C–N bond cleavage to produce sulfonamides due

A radical-mediated three-component 1,4-sulfonylarylation of 1,3-enynes with aryl iodides and sulfinate salts using cooperativephotoredox/nickelcatalysis is described. This protocol enables the synthesis of tetrasubstituted sulfonyl-containing allenes under redox-neutral conditions and provides a versatile 1,3-enyne 1,4-difunctionalization platform for the synthesis of a diverse range of tetrasubstituted
A novel one-step direct reductive coupling reaction between nitroarenes and sodium arylsulfinates was realized in the presence of an inexpensive Pd/C catalyst. In this procedure, readily available nitroarenes are employed as the nitrogen sources, and sodium arylsulfinates serve as both coupling partners and reductants. The method features high efficiency by using cheap Pd/C with low catalyst loading

An efficient and highly E-selective protocol for the synthesis of vinyl sulfones is described. This simple protocol demonstrates the first synthesis of vinyl sulfonesvia a silver-catalyzed C–S bond coupling reaction. In addition, the success of the reaction was found to be critically dependent on the use of TEMPO as the additive.
