    A stabilizer composition is disclosed for increasing the resistance to yellowing and loss of clarity of a vinyl halidepolymer upon heating, which comprises a thio-1,3-dicarbonyl compound represented by the formula in which M represents hydrogen, an organotin group or a metal, R represents hydrogen, a hydrocarbon group or a group-C-R'", each of R,R", and R'" represents hydrogen x or an organic group, X is oxygen or sulfur, and n representing thevalence of M is an integer from 1 to 4. and at least one heat stabilizer which is an alkyltin compound or a metal salt of a non-nitrogenous monocarboxylic acid or of a hydrocarbon-substituted phenol. Stablized vinyl halide polymer compositions, in which the above stabilizer composition is used to improve the resistance to yellowing and the clarity, are also disclosed.

    A latently-curable, organosilicone composition comprises a metal catalyzed organosilicone composition capable of undergoing hydrosilation and, as hydrosilation inhibitor, an organic monohydrogen derivative of an unsaturated aliphatic 1,4-dicarboxylic acid, i.e., maleic acid or acetylene dicarboxylic acid. The organic monohydrogen derivatives of use in this invention effectively inhibit catalyzed hydrosilation reactions at low or room temperature while allowing efficient hydrosilation reaction rates to occur at elevated temperatures. These monohydrogen derivatives perform their inhibitive function effectively at low concentration. The latently curable composition may be coated on a substrate to provide a release surface for an adjacent adhesive layer.

    There is disclosed a complex metal hydroxide salt represented by the formula (I)         [Aℓ 2(Li (1-x) · M(x+y) (ZnO)z(OH) (6+2y) ]n (An-) (1+x) · mH2O     (I) (wherein M is Mg and/or Zn, An- is an anion having a valence of n, and m, x, y and z are respectively in the ranges of 0 ≦ m < 5, 0 < x ≦ 0.5 (preferably 0.01 ≦ x < 0.5), 0 ≦ y ≦ 0.5, 0 ≦ z ≦ 0.5, 0 < y + z < 1 (preferably 0.01 ≦ y + z ≦ 0.5), 0< x + y + z ≦ 1). When incorporated in a halogen-containing resin, it causes less coloration toward the resin and is superior in the thermal stability and ability to capture halogen such as chlorine as compared with the hitherto known lithium aluminum complex hydroxide salt.

    A lithographic printing method is disclosed which comprises the steps of providing an imaging material which comprises a support and an image-recording layer or an image-recording surface, wherein said layer or surface is not removable with a single-fluid ink comprising an ink phase and a polar phase; image-wise exposure of the imaging material to heat or light without substantially ablating said image-recording layer or surface, thereby switching the affinity of the image-recording layer or surface towards ink or an ink-abhesive fluid and thereby creating a printing master comprising a lithographic image which consists of unexposed areas that have affinity for one phase of said ink phase and polar phase and of exposed areas that have affinity for the other phase of said ink phase and polar phase; printing, wherein the single-fluid ink is supplied to the printing master. The exposed image-recording layer, which normally exhibits a poor differentiation of hydrophilicity or oleophilicity between exposed and non-exposed areas, provides high quality printed copies in combination with the single-fluid ink.
