A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed, which contains a magenta coupler having a specific ballast group. The light-sensitive material is improved in solubility in an organic solvent, dispersibility and stability of dispersion in a silver halide emulsion. The coupler is represented by the following Formula M-1;
wherein R² and R³ are each a substituent provided that and at least one of which has a group represented by the following Formula I; and X is a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being split off upon reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent;
wherein R¹ is a hydrogen atom or a normal or branched alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms.
