The present invention provides
a friction modifier for a lubricating oil which comprises an oil-soluble copolymer (A) containing at least one unit of a monomer (a) represented by the general formula (1) and at least one unit of a monomer (b) represented by the general formula (2), and having a weight average molecular weight of 3,000 or more;

a friction modifier composition comprising the above copolymer (A), and at least one species selected from the group consisting of a diluent and other additives; a lubricating oil composition comprising base oil, and the above friction modifier or friction modifier composition. These are excellent in the friction regulation effect, capable of reducing transmission shock, are high in the friction coefficient required for power transmission, and in addition, are excellent in wear resistance.
Provided is a PSA composition with greatly reduced dependence on fossil-resource-based materials while comprising an acrylic PSA. The PSA composition provided includes a PSA. The PSA is an acrylic PSA including an acrylic polymer. The acrylic polymer is formed from monomers including more than 50 % (by weight) acrylic monomer. At least 50 % of all carbons in the PSA are biomass-based carbons.
Provided is a PSA sheet with reduced dependence on fossil-resource-based materials while having an acrylic PSA. The PSA sheet provided includes a PSA layer. The PSA layer is formed from a PSA composition including an acrylic polymer. The acrylic polymer is a polymer of monomers that include more than 50 % (by weight) acrylic monomer. At least 50 % of all carbons in the PSA layer are biomass-derived carbons. The PSA sheet has a peel strength of less than 3 N/20mm to a stainless steel plate.

(A) A (meth)acrylate comprising the following (A-1) and (A-2): (A-1) a monofunctional (meth)acrylate whose homopolymer has a Tg of -100°C to 60°C, and (A-2) a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate; (B) a polyisobutene homopolymer; and (C) a photo radical polymerization initiator.
A pressure-sensitive adhesive is provided that is a dried product of a latex composition, which is formed from an emulsion composition. The latex composition and the emulsion composition are also provided. The emulsion composition has droplets that contain various monomers plus a (meth)acrylate polymer dissolved in the monomers. Additionally, an article containing a layer of the pressure-sensitive adhesive and a method of forming the pressure-sensitive adhesive are provided. The pressure-sensitive adhesives often have both high peel adhesion and high shear strength (i.e., high cohesive strength or high shear holding power).
