A simple and efficient approach for the general synthesis of 4-(2,2-diarylvinyl)quinolines 5 and 4-(2,2-diarylvinyl)-2H-chromenes 6 has been developed using Fe(III)-catalyzed intramolecular annulations of homopropargyl substrates 1 and 2, respectively.
