Brønsted acidic ionic liquid as an efficient and reusable catalyst for one-pot synthesis of 1-amidoalkyl 2-naphthols under solvent-free conditions

amidoalkyl naphthols from condensation of aldehydes with amides or urea and 2-naphthol in the presence of a catalytic amount of Brønstedacidicionicliquid ([TEBSA][HSO4]) under thermal solvent-free conditions. High yields, short reaction time, easy work-up and reusability of the catalyst are advantages of this procedure.
An efficient, inexpensive, and mild method for the synthesis of amidoalkyl naphthols, catalyzed by ‘silicasulfuricacid’ (SSA), was elaborated under solvent-free conditions at room temperature. Various amidoalkyl naphthols were synthesized in high yields from aromatic or aliphatic aldehydes, α- or β-naphthols, and amides or urea or thiourea.
2-Hydroxy-5-sulfobenzoic acid: an efficient organocatalyst for the three-component synthesis of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols and 3,4-disubstituted isoxazol-5(4H)-ones
(2-HSBA) efficiently catalyzed the one-pot three-component synthesis of a wide variety of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols and 3,4-disubstituted isoxazol-5(4 H )-ones. The three-component process of substituted benzaldehydes, 2-naphthol, and amides (benzamide and acetamide) or urea occur using 10 mol% of 2-HSBA as an organocatalyst under solvent-free reaction conditions (SFRCs) at 100 °C. It was also found that

Protic pyridinium ionic liquid: As an efficient, green and environmentally friendly catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of amidoalkyl naphthol derivatives
Résumé A green and efficient synthesis of amidoalkyl naphthol derivatives via the three-component reaction between aryl aldehyde, 2-naphthol and amide derivatives using 2-methylpyridinium trifluoromethanesulfonate ([2-MPyH]OTf) as a catalyst (5 mol%) is described. This method provides several advantages over alternative procedures such as low cost, under thermal solvent-free green procedure, simple procedure and direct isolation of the products in high yields.
