Anti-crease finishing of cotton fabrics based on crosslinking of cellulose with acryloyl malic acid
摘要:
Maleic acid (MA) has been explored to replace formaldehyde-based dimethylol dihydroxy ethylene urea (DMDHEU) for cotton anti-crease finishing. However, the resilience of treated fabrics was not satisfactorily improved. In this study, acryloyl malic acid (AMA) was synthesized and applied on fabrics as a novel crosslinking agent. The results showed that both crease recovery angle and whiteness index of treated samples were higher than those of MA in the presence/absence of catalyst sodium hypophosphite (SHP). Chemical structure of AMA was confirmed by NMR and MS spectra. The possible crosslinking mechanism between AMA and cellulose was investigated by means of C-13 NMR, MS, FTIR and phosphorus content analyses. It was found that AMA could form ester bonds with cellulose by formation of anhydride intermediate. Meanwhile, additional reaction of double bonds on AMA with another molecule or P-H of SHP residual has also contributed to the crosslinking. A reaction equation was proposed based on the analyses. A practical polymerizable unsaturated polyester resin composition is provided, wherein a polyester skeleton derived from collected PET is introduced, for effective utilization of waste PET such as a PET bottle which has recently been considered a large obstacle to environmental protection. The polymerizable unsaturated polyester resin composition comprises a straight-chain polyester (A) having a (meth)acryloyl group at both ends of molecules and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (B), said straight-chain polyester (A) having a (meth)acryloyl group at both ends of molecules being obtained by reacting: (a) a terephthalate oligomer having a hydroxyl group at both ends of molecules resulted from the alcoholysis reaction of collected waste polyethylene terephthalate by an aliphatic glycol having an ether bond, (b) a dibasic acid containing an aromatic dibasic acid as a principal component, and (c) a glycidyl (meth)acrylate.

An aqueous dispersion containing a water-insoluble solid, wherein the solid consists of fine particles surfaces of which are coated with a resin having a polyether structure, and a coated amount of the resin is 15 to 1,000 parts by weight per 100 parts of the solid. This aqueous dispersion has improved dispersion stability for various solids such as pigments, dyes, and so on, causes no problems such as precipitation of the solid particles during the storage of the dispersion, and thus can be stably stored for a long time. The present invention can provide an aqueous dispersion used as an ink-jet printing ink, which has good high speed printing properties besides the above properties.
A pavement marking composition comprises (a) a polyfunctional ethylenically unsaturated polymer selected from the group consisting of polyfunctional ethylenically unsaturated polyurethanes, polyureas, polythiocarbamates, polythiocarbamateurethanes, polythiocarbamateureas, and polyurethaneureas comprising at least one chain extender-derived segment and at least one polycarbonate, polyether, or polyester segment; and (b) at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer. The composition can be easily applied, cures in a reasonable amount of time at any of a wide range of commonly-encountered temperatures, and provides pavement markings that exhibit both improved cold impact resistance and improved wear resistance.
