A new class of 1,3- and 1,4-phenylene linked bis(azoles) were prepared from E-cinnamohydrazide, isophthalic/terephthalic acids adopting ultrasonication methodology and tested for antimicrobial activity. Amongst all the tested compounds 7c, 9a, and 9c are potential antimicrobial agents against S. aureus and P. chrysogenum.
