  The present invention relates to a method for purifying β-hydroxyl-β-methyl butyrate, comprising neutralizing a crude β-hydroxyl-β-methyl butyrate with a base to produce a salt of β-hydroxyl-β-methyl butyrate, cooling and crystallizing, dissolving and acidifying, and extracting to obtain β-hydroxyl-β-methyl butyrate of high purity.
