The Hammett Relationship in the Reduction of Aldehydes with 2-Propanol by Catalysis with Hydrous Zirconium Oxide
A linear correlation of the Hammett relationship was obtained for a catalytic reduction of substituted benzaldehydes with 2-propanol with hydrous zirconium oxide. The reaction constant ρ was 1.35, indicating that the electronic effect on the reaction is larger than that on the standard one.
