5-Formyl-2-furylboronic acid reacts cleanly with a range of heteroaryl bromides under SuzukiâMiyaura cross-coupling conditions to produce 2-formyl-5-heteroarylfuran derivatives. Subsequent Wittig olefination reactions afford Ï-conjugated alkeneâpyridylâfuran derivatives.
