  Compounds of the general formula wherein R1 isR3S[O]n; R3 is C1-C4 alkyl, CrC. alkenyl, cyclopentyl or cyclopropylmethyl; R2 isH,F,Cl,Br,CH3,OCH3CF3,NO2,CNorNH2 n is 0,1 or2; W isOorS; T isCHorN; Z is CH or N; X isCH3, C2H5, OCH3, OC2H5, or CH2OCH3; and Y is CH3 or OCH3; and their agriculturally suitable salts; exhibit general and selective herbicidal activities, and may also be used as plant growth regulants. The compounds can be formulated into agricultural compositions in conventional manner. They may be made e.g. by reacting a corresponding benzene- or pyridine- sulfonyl isocyanate or isothiocyanate with the appropriate 2-aminopyrimidine or2-amino-1,3,4-triazine.
